Introduction
China and Africa share one heart and walk together for health. On the occasion of the first anniversary of the China-Africa Hospital Alliance (CAHA), the China-Africa Hospital Joint Development Case Collection: Connecting China and Africa on the Medical Road, Advancing Health Together was officially released. The “China-Zambia Joint Working Group on Digestive Endoscopy Technology and Diagnosis and Treatment of Early Gastrointestinal Cancer,” led by the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Science and Technology with the deep participation of Daichuan Medical, was successfully selected.

The implementation of digestive endoscopic diagnosis and treatment depends not only on the equipment itself, but also heavily on professional talent, reprocessing facilities, and stable water and electricity supply. In Zambia, the local diagnosis rate of early gastrointestinal cancer is less than 8%, and only 18 physicians are able to independently perform standardized digestive endoscopy procedures. The shortage of medical resources further restricts the routine delivery and broader accessibility of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment services.

During the assistance mission of Professor Zhang Yingjian, leader of the 26th Chinese Medical Team to Zambia, and his delegation at Livingstone University Teaching Hospital, Daichuan Medical’s EndoFresh® single-use digestive endoscope helped break through this barrier. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Africa, as well as the first anniversary of the China-Africa Hospital Alliance. Moving forward, we will continue to leverage innovative single-use endoscopy technology and, through the platform of the China-Africa Hospital Alliance Joint Working Group, further deepen cooperation with medical institutions in African countries in areas such as talent training and technical exchange. We will actively promote advanced medical technologies and diagnostic and treatment standards beyond China, contributing to the building of a China-Africa health community!
