Beyond Time, Within Reach – EndoFresh® Showcases Technological Innovation at UEGW 2025 (Berlin)

Oct 16, 2025
UEG Week 2025 successfully concluded in Berlin on October 7th. Organized by the United European Gastroenterology (UEG), UEG Week is a flagship academic and industry event that brings together leading global experts and cutting-edge solutions, standing as one of Europe's most recognized platforms in terms of scale and academic level in the digestive field.

At this year's event, EndoFresh® presented its endoscopic innovation pathway under the theme "BEYOND TIME, WITHIN REACH". Focusing on three key dimensions – process efficiency, infection control, and integrated solutions – EndoFresh® engaged in in-depth exchanges with frontline clinicians and garnered widespread recognition in the European market!

Booth Spotlight: Key Areas of Interest

At the EndoFresh® booth, the flagship product – the EndoFresh® Single-Use Electronic Colonoscope and its supporting Portable Image Processor GEC-2000P – attracted significant attention from attending experts. The GEC-2000P is 62% smaller in volume and 54% lighter in weight compared to traditional equipment, truly achieving "portability" and greatly expanding the potential application of colonoscopy in diverse clinical scenarios. While retaining all the examination and biopsy functions of conventional colonoscopes, EndoFresh® also offers the absolute advantage in infection control inherent to its "single-use" design. It is particularly suitable for use in emergency departments and operating rooms where endoscopic resources may be limited, and also provides a new, high-quality, low-maintenance-cost diagnostic and therapeutic option for private clinics.

  • Efficiency & Accessibility:
The fast turnover of single-use endoscopes and the multi-scenario adaptability of the portable host were frequently highlighted, making them suitable for training, day surgeries, and mobile screening programs.

  • System Integration & Compatibility:
The high level of integration and compatibility of the host unit garnered attention, facilitating "plug-and-play" clinical workflows and device management.

  • AI Assistance:
The AI-assisted system acts as a "standard guardian," ensuring the standardization and traceability of each procedure, simultaneously upgrading both device management and medical quality control.

  • Integrated Solution:
Through the complete solution of "Integrated Host + Single-Use Scope Body + AI Intelligence," it merges device management, clinical operation, and medical quality control, enabling standardized endoscopic diagnosis and treatment that is "ready-to-use, safe, and precise" in any setting.

Clinical Significance: From the 'Endoscopy Unit' to the 'Bedside'

  • Beyond Time: Utilizes more efficient processes and tools to shorten the diagnosis/treatment pathway and waiting times.

  • Within Reach: Makes advanced endoscopy more accessible and replicable, truly serving more departments and patients.

Clinical Academics: 100% Cecal Intubation Rate / Device -62% / Weight -54%

The randomized clinical study on the EndoFresh® Single-Use Electronic Colonoscope, led primarily by Professor Rong Long from Peking University First Hospital, with Dr. Tian Yuan and Dr. Rao Xiaolong among key contributors, was successfully selected for poster presentation.

[Study Highlights]:

  • The world's first published large-scale Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) for a single-use electronic colonoscope.

  • Confirmed its non-inferiority to traditional colonoscopes in terms of Cecal Intubation Rate and Adenoma Detection Rate (ADR).

  • Completely eliminates cross-contamination, enhancing clinical operational safety.

  • Demonstrated excellent patient pain scores and better overall comfort.

Following the gradual acceptance of single-use gastroscopes in upper GI treatment, the single-use electronic colonoscope – which demands higher clinical manipulation skills – has emerged. It significantly mitigates the hidden risk of cross-contamination in colonoscopy, proving particularly suitable for clinical surgeries with high infection control requirements, combined laparoscopic-endoscopic surgery, intestinal microbiota transplantation, and immunocompromised or multidrug-resistant patient populations. It effectively enhances patient experience and medical safety without compromising operational efficiency.

Concurrently, the EndoFresh® Portable Image Processor GEC-2000P, with its 62% reduction in volume and 54% reduction in weight compared to traditional devices, offers rapid portability and suitability for diverse scenarios. It possesses all the functions required for routine colonoscopy and biopsy and is particularly well-suited for departments and settings with limited endoscopic resources (e.g., Emergency Departments, Operating Rooms). It also meets the needs of healthcare institutions seeking to control equipment procurement and maintenance costs (e.g., private clinics), powerfully contributing to the dual enhancement of flexible medical resource allocation and infection control.
